Apparently they're just called child molesters. Even if they're underaged.

Could you paint with a broader brush? One religious teen does something bad; therefore all religious people must be bad.

Does it work both ways?

quote:

A gay bank worker who murdered his wife in an attempt to hide his sexuality has been ordered to serve at least 21 years behind bars. Jasvir Ginday, 29, was sentenced on Friday to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 21 years for killing his wife months after marrying her to hide his sexuality and burning her body in a garden incinerator .

LINK Does this mean that I shouldn't trust any gay person because one gay man was a psycho?

Where does it say it was his siblings? I read an article earlier and it just said he was 15 and with other kids his own age.

It's in the police report. Names redacted but it says they lived together. And since it's four siblings that means the youngest was like 8 or 9. LINK

I'm assuming the 4 oldest girls. When he was doing this the 4th oldest was only around 9 I believe.

Do you know any super religious people who are comfortable to be around?

I have yet to meet one.

It's one thing to believe in a religion, it's another to let it become you.

I'm not "super religious" but have you ever stopped to think it's not them but instead it's you that causes the awkwardness you feel?

I'm not sure what your definition of "super religious" is but I go to Mass weekly, and often daily, have an adoration hour, and participate in retreats. But I'm certainly not pushy with my faith and nowhere near uncomfortable to hang out with. Hell, a few of my good friends are atheist.

I have met quite a few actually. Those who are the most religious (i.e. those who live according to the teachings of the Bible) are some of the most compassionate and giving people.

Sure, there are some religious crazies that I wouldn't enjoy being around, but that is true of the rest of the population as well. I certainly wouldn't put everyone who believes a certain way into one group.

This brings me back to my point. Not all religious people are demented. Not all Muslims are terrorists. Not all gay people incinerate their spouses

If you read the report. The youngest was 4 or 5 at the time. The oldest daughter denied any abuse. That would leave the next 4 as the victims plus on girl not living in the home.

Christians molesting kids is a lot more common than gay dudes setting their wives on fire.

I wonder if the other girl was cousin Amy??

I hate to hear this about this family..i like the show as do my kids...

How would y'all handle it if you found out one of your sons were doing that to one of your daughters...would you beat his arse? Tell authorities, if so what then? Send him to juvi, counseling, disown him, forgive him and welcome him back home?? What actions would you have taken? I don't know what i would do, it would be tough not to beat his arse!!

Sure. Sexually based crimes are a lot more common than crimes involving incineration.

How does the crime of molestation among those who are religious compare with their secular counterparts? Certainly if we are going to paint a certain facet of the population with a broad brush, then at least the statistics would reflect a higher incidence rate. Do you have statistics to back up that claim?

I am sure we can find other commonalities among many perpetrators, but correlation does not always imply causation.

I lived in Northwest Arkansas and know the Duggars well. I was surprised when all this news came out. I think Josh was pursuing politics, and in that field your skeletons always find a way out of the closet.

While I agree that Josh's actions shouldn't be overlooked, I more so question the adults in the situation. Jim Bob, Michelle, and the Church Elders.

Also googled ages(when Josh was 14 at the time):
Jana 13
Jill 11
Jessa 10
Jinger 9
Joy-Anna 5

I also dislike seeing the comments putting off the situation purely for the fact of they are famous and Godly people. The situation happened, and just because these people are very outwardly Christian, doesn't absolve the situation.

Jana is the hottest daughter she can come get it anytime regardless if her brother diddied her or not. It's a weird family though.

I remember my wife telling me one of the daughters Ginger I think wanted to go to college and there was a online petition to free her cause they wouldn't let her or something. I would be surprised if Jim Bob doesn't Frick all of his children on the regular....

Why do most of you hate the Duggars so much? Because they believe in God's word and have the conviction to live the life they believe is right as opposed to giving in to cultural norms? I've got news for you, our culture sucks.

Molesting and molesting one's sister is not right, no matter who's word it is. The only conviction here is that Josh should have been arrested and convicted for his crime and sins in a state penitentiary and have the notorious label of "fresh meat."
