Maybe I'm missing something here...Dad finds out. Turns his underage son into cops. Given his age, cops recommend therapy. Son completes therapy.

I think most of it has to do with the irony.
Son diddles little sisters. Son's diddling gets swept under rug. Son makes fortune from TV show and being director of foundation that advocates against gay marriage because it will supposedly corrupt children. Son gets exposed as child molester.

He didn't actually do therapy. They didn't go to the cops they went to church elders. Parents knew about it for a year before they went to anyone.

Where does it say it was his siblings? I read an article earlier and it just said he was 15 and with other kids his own age.

Yeah I'm not sure what the word would be. I guess a child can technically be a child molester but I imagine there is a word for it.
