It's not about being scared. It's about responsibility and not wanting to get bit by a little piece of shite dog. Would you like to get bit by a 10 oz rat or bat? I think not.

Yes, you do have carte blance. That's why there are leash laws.

No you wouldn't.

Of course I would. Now, if my dog happens to be in the wrong and is trying to bite/attack a person (which is not going to happen) then yeah, I could understand that person doing what they need to do to make it stop. But if the person just kicks my dog for no apparent reason, then we have a problem.

Breaking the social contract and ignoring the clear municipal/parish/county/state leash laws infringes on my rights in public spaces, yes.

He's jogging. He shouldn't have to worry about some inconsiderate dog owner thoughtlessly allowing a pug to trip him up while he's running.

Nah, pug already dead.

Guy shouldn't have kicked pug; woman should have had dog on leash.

As much as I love pugs I can't say that woman was 100% without any responsibility in this. That is why you keep your dog on a leash. It protects others, but also protects the dog as well. Drives me crazy when I see people with their dogs on hiking trail and not leashed. They are only putting their dogs at potential risk. Only time I ever let go of my dogs' leashes is if we are going downhill a mountain trail on a steep slope down and they could potentially pull me down and fall. I let them go to get down slope and then quickly pick leashes up.

yes. I have the right to be out in public and not have a fricking oversized rat dog coming at me. Or any dog for that matter.

If it was charging me, I'd kick the frick out of it. I don't want to get any potential disease it has.

Hell, I knew a guy who poisoned his neighbor's dog because they kept letting it run free and it bit one of his kids pretty bad. His kids couldn't even play in their front yard.
That's shitty dog ownership. And the authorities don't give a frick. Best to just take care of business. Sucks for the dog, but oh well. It's just an animal.

I think we need some further information on this. Was the pug trying to bite him? I know I've kicked a dog in my neighborhood because it was trying to bite my Achilles tendon.

The only time I've ever dropped an F bomb towards a child was the same freaking dog. The kids of the house just let him out to play, and he approached my dad's dog (who is around 45 pounds of pure muscle) and started biting him. My dad's dog is trained very well, so he didn't react, but I told them if they didn't get their effing dog inside, I'd let mine rip him to shreds.

The dad actually had the gall to call me out on cursing, while he was trying to retrieve his dog who was actively still trying to full on grab my dad's dog's neck.

Yeah because she is 100% responsible in this. If it went to court it would be the easiest case of the day.

so charging at someone is not wreaking havoc?

Pugs are generally nice dogs but they can be yappy fricks as well - if he was running towards the jogger, barking, I can understand the apprehension.

Yeah, apparently she forgot to teach her pug the Bill of Rights or the US Constitution. The dog should known better than to come up to another person and infringe on their rights.

Shitty dog owners are the worst. I own a Golden retriever mix, but I don't ever let him out without a leash unless he's in my fenced back yard.

You are being sarcastic, but yeah, that's the definition of training your dog...

Out of all the dog breeds, a pug has the mouth least suited for attacking and biting than any other dog breed. You have to be the world's biggest pussy to kick the frick out of a pug.

No. The fricking dog owner being a shitty dog owner infringed on my rights. The dog is just the unfortunate one in this case. Sorry, but I will straight up go Morten Andersen on a dog before I let it bite me.

Really? A 15 pound animal can't inflict a bite worse than a 10 oz rodent? You may want to look up the definition of "moron".
