If they aren't going to get rid of it entirely, it should be a lot higher than what it was.

With the ACT score as low as it was, it was putting people in college that had no hope of actually getting a worthwhile degree. A lot of them would just flunk out/leave and the taxpayer's investment goes up in smoke.

I'm still surprised there is no "you have to stay in Louisiana for 3+ years after graduation" stipulation of taking the TOPS money.

Will a kid with say a 24 on the ACT who is a Junior at LSU lose his tops?

damn, 26 on ACT, that's sounding like he wants to make it a legit scholarship that pays for tuition each year (7k give or take)
