I'm just messing with you. I enjoy jazz fest for what it is but you're right there are much better venues to listen to some of these acts.

Glad I went last weekend. Talk about complete opposite ends of the spectrum as far as weather goes between the two weekends.

That's what I mean. It's always the same every year. 1/2 weekends is either hot as hell or a mud pit. Just move it up 2 weeks, or hold it in November- March. Austin has ACL in October, but they're smart.

NOLA does VooDoo around Halloween.

Which I enjoyed MUCH more. Not nearly as many people.

Unless they move it to City Park. If you are going to change the dates go all out and change the venue as well. More area in City Park so the overcrowding issues gets lessened as well.

Seems like a parking nightmare, though.

Probably already discussed but I just read

quote:

All unused second weekend tickets will be valid for entry on Sunday. ***Any purchased ticket that was used for entry on Saturday, April 30 will also be valid for entry on Sunday.***

Ouch!!

This is how it's always been. You're ticketed for any one day during the weekend, not for a specific event.

And all of this is how they're going to get around giving refunds. They'll just say they offered you the option of coming back today. Never mind there may not be anybody you want to see today.

It upholds the letter of the law. The spirit? Not so much.

I'm not sure they'll even go today. Weather is looking crappy already.

I've always thought the "powers that be" have these two festivals at the wrong venues.
I believe JF should be at City Park and Voodoo should be at the Fairgrounds.

Dot of Tickets sales on Sunday are usually low especially if weather is going to be bad.

Why would anyone expect to get a refund for an outdoor music festival closing early because of weather? Do you really think the festival should bear the risk? Not to mention people were actually able to enter and spend half the day in there.

Jazz Fest sucks, pretty much for the poors that can't afford to go see real concerts

So what is your definition of a real concert? And how much would that cost?

$75 is not exactly cheap and large outdoor festivals are pretty much the only venue to see premier acts these days. This is a worldwide thing. Your blanket insult doesn't even make sense.

I was looking to see if there was a video cam at the track. Wonder how many people are out there today? The rain was one thing yesterday, but the lightening was kind of skeery.

Sad we have friends in from New York for yesterday and today at the Fest. They are screwed big time.
