Six brand-new Jaguar Lightweight E-types are being meticulously built by specialist engineers, highlighting the capability and expert engineering skill set of the new Jaguar Heritage Workshop.

These coveted next generation ‘Special GT’ E-type cars were originally built in 1963 with new aluminium bodies to improve performance. But only 12 of the projected 18 were ever made. The six brand-new Lightweight E-types that now complete their number, fifty years later, carry the original series chassis numbers of the ‘missing’ vehicles.

I can't wait to get one of the six, but it'll be hard to pick the right color.

I wonder if it will have many hours in the local Jaguar service center just like the rest of the Jag collection?

No issues.

I've let all the nieces and nephews drive it and they love the sound and speed.

That's what sucks. Hopefully one of the owners will take it out and drive the balls off of it.

I like how they're doing this to "complete the run of 18."

The only color that a gentleman would ever considered is British Racing Green. By God, it's a Jaguar, man!
