I also live in a busy neighborhood. There are no sidewalks and everyone treats the main road I live on like Talladega. There's no way I'm walking my daughter up and down the road with all the crazy driving that goes on.

Like I mentioned earlier, we went to my sisters neighborhood two years ago. Last year we drove up deep into the neighborhood to let my girl trick or treat with a friend. It ended up raining, and the wives stayed at the house with our baby and the other dad drove us around to certain streets and we'd all get out and walk from one end to the other. I had a big Tervis full of Makers and a splash of coke. I really didn't mind the rain. I was three sheets to the wind after a couple of streets and the rain kept the bussed in kids out.

This is why you keep two baskets of candy: one basket of good chocolates for the neighborhood kids and another basket of peppermints for the travelers.

Or you could keep the candy you don't give out this year and let it be the candy for the hood rats next year. I even keep mine in the attic with my Halloween decorations.

That way it stays nice and fresh.

I just always used to get tired of the compliments on how nice my home is. No, it's not, it's just nicer than whatever shite box you just drove in from. Thanks for making me feel bad about the world now.

for what? Show me one point where i am wrong here.
Nevermind the feel good dribble.
How hard is it to make a decent experience in your poor neighborhood for all of the kids living there?
This is the main point being made here.

Well it was a 24 oz Big T tervis. It was filled 2/3 with ice, and enough makers to cover the ice, and maybe 2 oz of coke. Just enough to color it darker. And the way this guy drove, I needed it to not care that he was spinning through corners on wet pavement!

I like the fact that I live in a place that is that desirable. Having hundreds of little kids running through the neighborhood makes the experience better, not worse. Fire pit and beer on the neighbor's driveway. Good times.

ta start teaching that entitlement early on.

You know, you're absolutely right. That's how this country got into the mess it's in now. It all started by giving candy to children on Halloween.

We keep gates closed and rent a huge jump station and do hay rides and a haunted house for the kids in community. The drive by' scan look, but they can't touch

Yeah bc of this I've become a master at turning off all the lights in and outside of the house in an instant. You can usually hear them a few houses away.
