Let us desk jockeys in on a few of your trade secrets.
Let us in on all the privileged access and insights you have into your employees interaction with their company PCs. Humor us with some of the funny/creepy stuff you've encountered and how it worked out for the employee

Worked in a customer service position years ago that used screen shots of your pc for quality control. When it was time for my review my screenshots also showed an IM argument with my teenaged daughter(no pics). It was pretty funny.

I work for a 2 billion dollar publically traded company.
I can look at ANY file and ANY email I choose.
I can see what web sites you visit.
If I were a bad person, I could destroy the company with a few mouse clicks.
Scary enough ?
I have been saying for a while that I have too much power and we need to take some steps so that if I ever leave the company someone else can't just come in and wreak havoc.
They are finally starting to listen.

I've seen executive-level people fired for surfing porn on the company PC.

I've seen a good bit of guys wives naked/videos of them doing the business, and pictures that would make Penthouse look like home and garden. This includes executives.

I used to update software for our clients at an old job...they were basically boat marina's running our software. I'd log in remotely to do an update and hit one of the computers that are back in the garage/mechanic area and they'd be looking at some of the nastiest shite on craigslist I've ever seen. It was hilarious because they had no clue I was in there watching what was going on. They didn't work for us, so I didn't care and never said anything, but it happened regularly.
I had to clean up a laptop once that a previously terminated employee had used. Pictures of him and his boyfriend showed up on the projection screen while this lady was trying to do a presentation...in a chapel She was mortified, to say the least.

Porn is rampant. And yes, IT can generally see every little bit of traffic that passes through the network.
I think there's a misconception though that IT folks just sit there monitoring internet usage and other employee's email all day long. It doesn't go down like that, at least not at my company. The only time I look at info like that is if it's requested by a manager.

We can read every email you send/recieve.

I used to work for this company that had quite a few field agents. One time they hired this really old guy, sounded like every breath was his last, as a consultant. At the time we were using an online system for reporting, so all consultants had to enter their information gathered daily via a web portal. He was a nightmare, calling daily for the simplest things. So one time I remote into his system and help him get into the web portal. At the request of his manager, I left the session open in case he had more questions, which was a virtual lock. As soon as he hangs up the phone, this fricker minimizes the web portal and opens a porn buffet, 4 windows on two screens! It was too funny to get mad, but that old fricker could sure get around a computer when he wanted to.

Yes it's filtered. People still attempt it though. You can see the blocks in the firewall log.

what about the ones i write and it saves it automatically, but then i never send it and delete it?
I'd get in some trouble for some of the first thoughts i put down on emails in the heat of the moment. generally takes 3 or 4 times before i cool down enough to send a professional response in certain situations.

Maybe you should use word or notepad to type out your angry letters...it won't save as a draft in your email app...and there is no fear of accidentally sending it

Pretty much the same here. I loved it when we they finally allowed us to implement content filtering at work. Our internet utilization was cut in half on the first day. Before that we really only blocked the porn sites and some other explicit stuff.
The best part was when we killed all of the shopping sites for everyone. Literally seconds later our phones went off the hook with all of the women complaining about not being able to shop online.
The best part about those phone calls is that they were literally calling to complain about being no longer able to do something they were not supposed to be doing per policy in the first place.

Now.
Also, some execs get clear ports.

Even our execs that are exempt from the filter still have their activity tracked.

I always wondered about company phones and what can be seen on those.
I don't look at porn or anything, but i've recieved pictures before. How accessible is that?
