Is your office having a Christmas party this year?

We don't have one at the office but we'll have one at a hotel ballroom like we do every year

Yeah. Don't remember where we're having it, but I know it's on the weekend so I don't have to go to work drunk the next morning.

We have a small one at the office. There is never any booze and it's pretty lame.

They cancelled it just before the recession. Our London office rented a fricking castle and had the full bar, catering, etc.

We had a good one last year, it was at the doubletree and about 1,000 people were there.

Everyday is a party. My dad used to work at the times picayune. He said back in the 70's it was pretty wild. Back then it wasn't uncommon for people too keep a fifth in their desk on the reg. So I can only imagine the shenanigans.

Yep. We're having it in our new offices. In the past, we had the party at people's houses or a rented a place.
I'm usually a little sedate at the party. I have a couple of fairly close friends at work who know how I roll, and most people at the office are chill. But you don't want to be the guy outdrinking everyone at the party or getting sloppy in front of the boss.
Side note. I used to work at a place where there was this dumb, hot 21-year-old. A buddy who was going through an extended period of celibacy used to hang out with her at work. She showed up at the Christmas party with her dipshit boyfriend and the guy from work was hammered. He went up to the guy and said "I'm the one who takes care of your woman when you're not around". I'm astonished there wasn't an arse whipping over that.
