I'd do it for like $1500, but no way in hell would I drop $5k on it unless I had room to pack in a couple hundred extra people. You'd just be straight losing money

Yeah. Add in the costs to advertise if you so choose (not just Facebook/twitter) and you are in for $7k for 1 night...... That's tough

Wrong, it is 4000 to show the fight at any public location regardless of the amount of people. There will be 8,000 undercover snitches paid by the promotion company to rat out any establishment bringing in a home cable box for the night.

Ultimately, any place that is already going to be busy on a Saturday night will lose money by showing the fight, because it is too expensive to make up the difference in a few hours (unless you charge a serious cover.)

shamrock in mid city NOLA got quoted $15k... no fight there even though with $20 cover it'd be a bargain for them

Where is the bargain in needing 750 people there just for that fight? That's a shitload of people even if it's a big space.

Dude shamrock is big but how the frick would they pile 750 people in there and have them all able to order drinks and watch the fight?

shite even if you figure alcohol sales in and say 400ish people, it'd still be a clusterfrick and a half

Here in Orlando the Hooters are all having it. $30 cover & they give you $20 in vouchers(not usable tonight) so still a net of $10 after that.

Some locations are small & some huge.

Lots of bars don't want to charge their regulars a $20 cover to come in and watch something on TV. I think it's a good decision.

I received the same "plan" that they are using as a guide if I wanted to show it. Best case scenario was for me to get it at $3400 if 400+ Hooters decided to show the fight. I would have to get 170 people at the door willing to pay that just to cover at the door. If I don't do that then I need to make up for it at the table. If the fight ends in the first round then I won't make it at the table. A lot of risk there. It isn't like I'd lose a couple hundred if I fall short.

Yeah, I don't see why lowering the price to maybe $1000 wouldn't be the right thing to do. Seems like you could at least get 50% of the bars to do it, and at $4-5k, you'll be lucky to get 5%

I'm eating a frozen dinner and watching COPS Reloaded. IDGAF about the fight and am not gonna act like I do

Out of the 7 bars within four blocks of me, only one has the fight, and they have those big twirling spotlights outside
