Check with the property valuation administrator and ask what section the house is in. Could be 7, 8, or 9.

You got black neighbors and you’re on edge. You can say it.

Scatter some job applications around the property. That should keep them away

I think it all depends on if there is an HOA or if the landlord accepts it. But I'm pretty sure Section 8 has a max on what they'll pay which is around 7 to 800 dollars a month. I would hope no houses around me would rent that cheap

Probably adjusted for cost of living. I know they'll pay at least double that here.

Slightly off subject but...
When looking at a potential place to live go back at night when they’re awake.

Or...

Look at the cars.

Correct. He should ask the owner if he accepts the vouchers. Fairly simple resolution.

Check on go section 8 .com if the address is listed you lose. The payment standard goes up depending on household size. Also can get more for nicer amenities.

at least two of the houses are rentals and the people there now did not take care of the property

Yes they are Sec 8. Your neighborhood is doomed, get out now. And wherever you go, Section 8 will eventually find you and you’ll have to uproot and move again. It’s the liberal way of things.

Unfortunately I don’t think think HOA can prevent Sec 8. Maybe I’m wrong. I hope I’m wrong.

It's technically illegal to discriminate against sec 8, although the owner can have many way to root out folks. Income requirements, large deposits, parking fees, credit scores, background checks. It's pretty easy, especially for a single family home.

The problem is not the owner rooting out folks, the problem is the owner accepting Sec 8 folks. And I don’t think an HOA can stop it.

Hey, we live in the Dales and that scumbag Steve Myers owns several rental properties/halfway houses....yes, even in this neighborhood in BR. Keep an eye on the tenants and report them for every single little thing. Call the cops and tell them you suspect drug dealing going on. Just threatening him that we would do that if he Section 8-ed the house two doors down kept him from doing it.

They can prevent renting though.
