re: Is it trashy to leave grocery carts in the middle of a parking lot?

I roll them back to the lobby of the store or to a cart Corral. I am getting older and I need to walk more so I don't mind the extra steps!

I just want to point out that we now get our own cart, get our own stuff, check ourselves out, and pick up the carts. All that is left is for the store to attach a broom to your arse that you drag around the store and require you to re-stock items since you're going that way anyway and they won't need employees.
This isn't about being fat or lazy, just pointing out how the grocery store has changed from a model that emphasized service to one that is so hellbent on reducing margins that the customer has essentially become an employee.

I was sitting in my truck at Rouses on Carrollton a few weeks ago, and this hipster parked next to my passenger side loaded his shite into his Prius and proceeded to put the cart right behind the bumper of my truck. I got out, pushed the cart directly behind his bumper, and watched him nail it. There's no more ideally designed vehicle than a car with a high trunk for something like this

Wow, I'm thankful I found this thread. This is hands down my biggest pet peeve in modern civilization. Someone earlier posted that is how they judge ppl, well brother me too. It is the height of narcissistic laziness to not walk 15-20 feet to replace a cart into the stall. And like others unfortunately I rarely saw this sort of actions until I moved to the south where the fat fatties like to be lazy and rude. /rant
also thanks for calling them grocery carts and not buggies.

So buggy boys get paid to walk the lots for their health?!

People get paid to collect those carts. If everyone put them back then some poor bastard would be out of a job. Why do you want to take away jobs?
The baggers are the only ones I've ever heard radioed to collect carts. So, not only does it ding people's vehicles and block parking, it makes checkout longer. Incredibly lazy and thoughtless IMO.

Guilty of this. When you're a girl and by yourself, you ditch the cart and hop into your car asap. I do it for my safety, especially if it's dark. Its also much more difficult for a mom hauling kids to the grocery store to put the cart back where it belongs while she's trying to hold on to her crew.

Aldi knows that trashy people are also cheap.
Good on them. I thought that practice died out with The Real Superstore ~20 years ago.

I take 'em back, regardless of the store.
FWIW, the Walmart markets never have carts lingering in the lot. Walmart supercenters always have them.

Hell yeah baw!
Let's take a poll. If you were to go to every Walmart in the state, how many would have a dirty diaper in the parking lot?
How many would have an empty McDonaldl's bag?
How many would have pieces of chicken of some kind on the lot?

I always bring the cart back for women and elderly.

Lazy. Trashy is flipping cigarette butts out of car windows as if it's not littering.
Posted on 5/2/16 at 8:02 pm to Henry Jones Jr
I do it. I like to give people jobs to do. Kind of like littering.

Nah, gives me a chance to test drive my buggy before I get in the store. Never fails if I get one from the stack inside it's got a stuck wheel or a flat spot on one tire, and/or handles like shite in general.

In college I worked at academy for a semester and all I gotta say on the subject is that the assholes that don't take the carts to a cart stall have a special spot in hell, along with people who don't put things back where they go in a store. I really hated working in retail.

Sounds like you were a lazy worker.

Less "trashy" and more lazy, rude and dangerous.
