Is It Strange For A Father To Make His Daughter Run His Bath Water?

In order to keep this short (since people bitch about how long my post are), I will skip the details, but in summary, while having lunch with 5 other people, two I didn't know well, we started having a conversation about how our parents would react to certain things we did as kids. As the conversation evolved one of the women (she is in her early 30s) said "one of my chores every night was to run my dad's bath water".
A few comments were made and a few questions were asked so she explained that her dad didn't like taking showers. He would come home from work, eat supper, watch the news. Every night, right before the news was he would tell me to go run his bath water. He liked it warm and filled up about half way". That kind of made me change my perception of her.
Did anyone else use to have to run their parents bathwater?

No, but the hot water heater fuse box was in by bedroom closet and it was my job every evening to turn the hot water switch on and off.
My dad did anything to save a buck.

This just sounds like dear old dad didn't want to wait the 5 minutes it takes to fill up a tub and figured that's what he had kids for. Seems like kind of a non story and nothing to really judge her about. Unless you have some reason to think the baths were inappropriate this is no different than any other story about childhood chores. Thanks for the short version I guess?
