This is how they ran through Northern Iraq with little pushback. When the Iraqi army was disbanded, many of Saddam's soldiers, officers, and Baathist sympathizers fled to insurgency and were waiting for a moment to come back. When Isis was rolling through N. You're right! Baghdadi is the first person in hundreds of years that meets all the qualifications of being the Caliph according to the Salafis.
