This core aren't religious zealots...they are pragmatic military men who want territory and loot.

It is their propaganda arm that is convincing others to come to Syria in order to train their brain into suicide attacks (radicalization).

End the attempt at an ISIS caliphate, militarily on the ground, and you will end the allure of Westerners coming to train to kill the West. This may entail carving up the borders of the land differently than what was drawn up after WWI...make a Sunni homeland, a Kurdish homeland and one for Northern Syria (or get rid of Assad).

The problem with my long term solution is that Turkey, Iraq and Syria would all have to give up territory...none of them want to do that.

That's not intolerance it's intelligence. Also if you did this it would force these good muslims iI keep hearing about to speak up. In the Army when we had a guy that was a frick up the entire Unit got punished and when that happened we had ways of taking care of the frick up and getting him motivated or getting his arse gone. You have to make them turn on each other. If the "good" muslims like the privilege of being here they will clean up the trash.

Go to the muslim communities and tell them to turn these frickers in or they will get arrested as an accomplice. They will turn them in.

We have to start winning the PR battle. Conducting air strikes which take innocent lives will only sow seeds of hate. Denying sanctuary to those who need help will only breed contempt. Terrorism is a short term gain, long term loss. They KNOW that what they do won't work forever. That's why they space out everything. They know that, eventually, the people they terrorize won't fear the possibility of death anymore. Someday, the people they torture/terrorize will say, "frick you. I don't care anymore. Do what you want with me. You'll never take my dignity as a human being."

Once that happens, it's over, and they know it. That's why they are so calculated.

So, what do I think we need to do? Keep training people in the Middle East to defend themselves, find a leader the people will trust, have them take out the terrorists, and we legitimize them as a state. It's really the only way
