The topic of this thread reveals the true intent of the st george backers. Greed. Never about schools. Really, they think they will become a Highland Park or Westchester County, NY? Please. It would be laughable if it werent so sad. Ooh maybe they will be like CCLA.
Again, all in BR care about schools but most would rather work towards it in the spirit of unity rather than on the backs of all tax payers in the parish.

Nobody really believes this. It's laughable that you tell yourself they do.

I don't want part of any group that shares your thought process.

What really solidified Highland Park though is when they built Highland Park Village, which I believe was the first large scale outdoor shopping center in the US (think Perkins Row but nicer). Now it is essentially the nicest neighborhood in Dallas with the nicest houses, except they pay their own taxes, have their own city council, and their own school. It's a pretty sweet set up if you can afford to live there

Got their own cops too. And they will get you for DWP(poor), DWM(messican), and DWB(black) through any street besides Mockingbird or Preston.

Patrizio in The HP Village is the best Italian food EVAR. And it's fricking cheaper than Ruffino's. Hell it's about priced like Olive Garden.

The fact that there is this thread belies the stated intent of the st g backers.

I've seen that one. But there are probably 10 or so LSU flags flying in Lakewood/ M Streets/ Tigerland Texas.

HP resident for the last two years. Property taxes are insane. Since I don't have a kid I really can't justify living here. About to take my talents to the M streets.

And HP Village shops are much nicer than Perkins Rowe.

isn't it like one of the top 3 most expensive neighborhoods in the US?

If you break it down by zip codes, 75205 (Highland Park) barely cracks the top 200. In fact it came in at 198, two spots behind 78746 in Austin. Forbes

Cmon dude. This is bullshite. You cant cry race every time because some folks want better schools for their kids and the school district is more focused on babysitting than education. Baton Rouge schools suck plain and simple. You want folks to keep their kids in them start expelling kids that don't want to be there so the ones that do can get an education in relative safety.

No where did I mention race. I said it was about money. Plain and simple. Never mentioned race. You did.
