re: Why won't my router work as an access point? (Still having issues with DNS) - Fred Farkle
Turns out not all is well. Still getting DNS server problems. Some research reveals that the ATT router is total crap - even more crap than I thought it was. So here is what I am trying to accomplish using two Asus routers. The first as a bridge from the ATT router and the second as an access po...

re: Why won't my router work as an access point? (Still having issues with DNS) - Fred Farkle
Got it working. It wanted the DNS server addresses from the main router. Once those were in everything you said was perfect. Thanks very much for the advice everyone. Appreciate it. ...

re: Why won't my router work as an access point? (Still having issues with DNS) - Fred Farkle
As part of setting up the router with a static IP it is asking for DNS settings. What goes there? And what goes in the subnet mask field? Thanks for the help. Also this router has a 2.5 and 5.0 dual speed but the Uverse router does not. Does that matter? Should I name the 5.0 speed side so...

Why won't my router work as an access point? (Still having issues with DNS) - Fred Farkle
So here's the deal. I want to use my Asus router - this one - [link=(http://www.amazon.com/RT-N66U-Dual-Band-Wireless-N900-Gigabit-Router/dp/B006QB1RPY)]Asus RT-N66U[/link] as an access point. I have CAT 5 ethernet coming from my ATT Uverse Router through the attic and I want to plug that into the...

re: OT Lawyers - thoughts on this scenario - Fred Farkle
As a couple have noted, it's two separate questions. First, can I use the photo? If the photographer kept the rights, the answer is probably yes, assuming you have the permission of the photog. If the photog didn't, the answer is no. Second question, Can I do the "work" I was doing before I le...

re: Turks and Caicos: Travel Review - Fred Farkle
We loved it last summer. Food is exceptional. Diving is great! If you are a new diver I highly recommend it. Great diving 10 minutes from shore. 60 feet or less. No current. Hi vis. More technical wall dives off the West coast. Also take a day trip to middle Caicos with a local guide. We will be ba...

re: How many of you baws have had an official Hole in One? - Fred Farkle
After 40 years of golf, some of those competitive, I got my first one two weeks ago. Twin Creeks, Allen Texas, #2, 147yd 9 iron. Just like I drew it up; high cut over the flag sucked back 3 feet back down the hill. In. 2 Witnesses. Thank god it wasn't a skull through the sand trap and a clan...

Serious Question -Honors College eligible son wants to go to LSU - he graduates from a Dallas prep school in May...Should I let him? (I'm an LSU alum and the rest of my whole family is still in NO.) re: Picking up my new pup - Fred Farkle
When we get a new pup we have one of those circular puppy gates and we buy a cheap piece of linoleum to put in its gate inside the house. That way when they pee inside its easier to clean up and after the house training just throw it away. Also feed them on it too. Plus if you put the pup down f...

Son building gaming computer...qc these parts... - Fred Farkle
Son asked to have $ for Christmas to build first gaming computer. The budget is $1000. Photo below is what he is proposing to do. I know nothing about this and reading that 1100 page sticky would be useless. Is this a good way to spend the first grand? Any suggestions appreciated. TIA [img]http://i1...
