IMO anything under 5"10 is short but I don't think guys that are 5"7-5"9 get that much discrimination. When you are 5"5-5"6 or shorter people stop taking guys seriously. I am not saying it is right but it is the truth. I mean, how many 5"3 CEOs are there. In the US the average CEO is WAY taller than the average male and that tells you all you need to know about height and success.

This is pretty much where i stand. Guess i didnt think I needed to specify men. ive never been attracted to a taller woman in my life

And I'd put the line at 5'7 maybe

Unless you're about 215-225 lbs of lean ripped muscle, bed OT 10's nightly, and can bench about 375, then no, you don't even meet OT standards.

Same, that would probably be my max and anything in the 4 foot range I would also not be looking to date. Every girl I have seriously dated has been between 5"2 and 5"5 and I am 6"5. Girls that height just seem perfect for me.

Lloyd Blankfien, the CEO of Goldman Sachs is MAYBE 5'5. Pretty sure lots of people the world over take him pretty damned seriously.

OT is 6'4 or bust SON.

Honestly, i think average male height in the US is 5'10". However, even on a board based in the land of hobbits (Louisiana, cajuns are fricking short), you get a board full of fricks who are 6'2-6'4.

In reality, 5'9 guys claim they're 5'11, 5'10 guys claim they're 6'0. 6'0 guys claim they're 6'1 or 6'2. 6'2 guys claim 6'4 and 6'4 claims 6'5.

If you really want to piss a short guy off, rest your elbow on their shoulder..

I had a short, dumb redneck tell me that short white people were "purebred" and that I had that N*****blood" in me 2 weeks ago.

He was bald and short, I'm 6'3" blk hair, blue eyes so naturally I just laughed my arse off.

You REALLY think that 5"4 guys get taken as seriously as 6"4 guys? Come on......

Sure there are a few but they have to be beyond exceptional to get there, more than someone over 6 feet would have to be. I once heard/read that one of Warren Buffetts investment strategies is to invest in companies that have short CEOs because they have to be exceptional leaders to have reached that position with the height prejudice we have in America.

I'm 5'6" and I believe all of my employees are taller than me.... except one. For a short sh!t I seem to be doing OK. The worst part of being short is coaching a 12yr old baseball team and being one of the shortest people in the team pic!

5'10 is the US average. I'd say 5'8-5'9 can be considered average. 5'7 you start to get called short IMO.

Truth. There's a guy I work with who is probably as bright as anyone, but he is 5'1. Everybody talks to him all playfully without any hint of seriousness. He gets completely overlooked/ignored in promotions and in meetings. I feel bad for the guy.

Great example thanks. I bet if saban was 6'3 most people would think success was his birthright. even auburn fans would sing campfire songs about him

I'm very tall and couldn't care less how short some other guy is (as long as he doesn't have the short man syndrome).

I'm 5'9" so average I guess.

I wouldn't want to be taller than 5'11" or so, though.

I can honestly say that in my professional life, I have never seen it play out that a less competent tall guy gets listened to more than a more competent short guy. I have literally never seen this.

Maybe I've been lucky enough to work with and for people with above average intelligence, I really don't know. But what I do know is that if I had the slightest urge to make such an irrational connection, I would immediately suppress it.

I'm sorry, but that sounds like BS. I'd have to see a link on that.

He is actually a perfect example of height prejudice. He is probably one of the 5 shortest college head coaches yet he is the best coach of all, it shows you HAVE to be exceptional to be short and make it to the top of an organization. If you are short and just average you will be gone or passed over for promotion way faster than a taller person with the same credentials.
