I am going to guess Haines city or the Davenport area then. Haines city has a neighborhood that used to be an upper blue collar neighborhood with homes in the 200k area. The Hispanics and Asians got a foothold in there, through rental, and turned the homes into 60k homes.
Their little gang thing brought it straight down. They are not even the trashiest people around though.

A few years ago we drove from Amelia Island to Sarasota, mostly down 301, wanting to get a taste of the local scenery. It was stunningly poor, and it seemed to go on forever. I guess I am glad we did it, but if you make the drive, get a full tank of gas and some drinks for the ride so you don't have to stop.

Nah this place was 99% white with a few Mexicans around. For the most part, the Mexicans were the only ones gainfully employed.

Yes, central Florida is bad, but I love the Tampa Bay metro area.
From Tampa Bay south to Marco Island, you have the best beaches in the continental US, unless surfing is your thing.
Take the trip. Hit Orlando on the way down, if you want to do a theme park or two. Unless you're into roller coasters. If that is the case, just do Busch Gardens in Tampa.
Then head down to siesta key for some r&r, and bring the kids to Sanibel island for some seashelling.
You'll enjoy it a great deal.

Anywhere south of Orlando, north of Yeehaw City and at least 30 miles from the coast is absolute trash.

If you are in/from LA you shouldn't notice a lot of differences. Living just south of Tampa/St.Pete, the biggest blight (to me) is the excess of people/retirees from MI, OH, IL, WI, IN, NY, NJ with their nasal, twangy accents, their Southern-phobia, and their boring, bland taste buds which brings down the quality of eating out for those of us who like seasoned foods.

As an individual who's experienced Louisiana and Central Florida I can assure you that Louisiana is in no position to throw stones as it relates to trash folk.
That said, Tampa St. Pete are fine. So too is Orlando. Once you move North of Homosassa and into the panhandle things get into some trashy areas. Ocala has a lot of very wealthy "old money" people living there. They have their fare share of undesirables too.
Last month we drove from BR to Tampa. Took 12 hours, if it's just a few of you a lot of time can be saved by flying in.

This board is silly like that, though.

Yeah it's pretty Louisiana in those parts. Ok maybe not that bad.

Trashier than rural Louisiana or Mississippi

People who eat these should not throw stones.

Orlando is the dirt worst, and Daytona Beach made me fear for my life. Never been to Tampa.
