Is anyone still against mandatory body cameras?

And not just a cheap clip that can fall off. But a pin that can only come off with ripped clothing.
Is there anyone still thinks that body cameras are a bad idea?

The clip on ones fall off basically every time a cop makes a physically aggressive move, also known as the only time you ever really need them.

I am sure there are a few departments that do. Notably the Boston Police Department- they have a "voluntary" body cam pilot program where the LEO can turn them on and off as they see fit. The police chief said he didn't see the need for them, and enacted the pilot program as proof they would show nothing.

Who's paying? I don't think anyone is opposed to the idea, but that's not free, and our city/state isn't exactly flush with cash.

in theory, i want cops under 24-hour surveillance. In practice, I think it opens doors for surveilling private citizens (further) and the cam/recording systems are probably easily tampered with/footage altered etc, and won't do any good. but maybe some good tech advances will make any "glitches" or intentional alteration impossible. And maybe cops walking around videoing everyone, all the time isn't as big a concern as the abuse it is designed to thwart. My gut just doesn't love it.

But I am just against how prolific cameras are in general. I recognize that I am different on this issue but I feel like a person should have the right to not be filmed/photographed.

I agree. Plus, nobody knows what happened in Minnesota before the filming began. All of these cops may be innocent and did the right thing. But we don't have a clue because of the angles on the camera.
I do know that their badges never fall off. Just pin those cameras on their shirt.
I think with someone that had such great authority, and their testimony tends to hold more sway than an average citizens, they need checks and balances.
The money should come from the federal government, and be a federal law. If we can give police departments billions of sugars of military equipment, why not cameras? In 2016, that's a pretty easy task to accomplish.

If that is an accepted part of the job then there are no issues. The problem will be with existing cops that didn't sign on with cameras in place and now have to deal with it. I look at it like GPS on work trucks, most of the time it doesn't matter but it can help or hurt you in the wrong times.
