Yes. But in your defense my father did it (he was actually 28) and my parents have been married for 42 years.

It depends on the hotness of the 18 year old HS girl.

I know a guy around that age(24-26) who dated a senior in high school and they got married and still are.

I thought it was odd when I heard about it, but from what I remember they didn't do the homecoming & prom stuff. She didn't care and she seemed mature for her age.

Now that I'm thinking about it, they may have started dating her junior year. I first heard about it at a basketball game she was cheering at her senior year when she was talking to the guy during a break.

I wouldn't say weird, but it's not common in our society.

Wut? Slightly older men and younger women is not common in our society?

This isn't an Anna Nichole Smith situation. 8 years isn't anything between couples for the most part.

The only weird thing to me is that she is in HS still and they are obviously at vastly different points of their lives but as you get older 8 years really isn't a huge deal IMO.

In college, fine, let her do what she wants. While she's in HS and living under my roof, but 18 year old senior in HS daughter is not, under any circumstance dating a 26 year old.

Same ... my daughter will be 18 in the February before she graduates ... not happening here either. College, different although I still don't think I'd care for it.

Apologies I misread your post as saying you wouldn't care if they did.

I went out with a few freshmen gals while I was in law school. One last chance to feel young.

GMM, we may not agree on gun control, but if I ever get single again let's head over to Cadillac's and wreak havoc.

lol Not a problem ... figured that's what it was. I'd be a very not happy momma! I don't want my freshman daughter to even be asked to junior/senior prom by a junior! I'm funny. And so is her daddy when it comes to things like this.

I do think you get to an age where it's not weird but that's still not to say I'd be happy.

24/32 would be NBD.

18/26 is kinda odd, IMO.

This.

38 and 30 is one thing, but there is a MASSIVE difference in 26 to 18 in maturity and where they are in their lives.

That said... To each their own. It isn't bothering me any.

I'd say even a 21 year old dating a high schooler is shakey grounds, nevertheless when you're in your mid-20s. You'd have to be ridiculously immature in the first place to want to date a high schooler at that age.
