Preach brother. Big problem in this country is lack of stay at home moms

I used to think that way. But my children are in a much more stimulating environment than they would be at home, additionally socializing them outside the house.

Saw you meant per month. $1,200/month is about what I’ve seen for really good ones inside BR. Outside of BR is a little cheaper, but not that much

People need to do what they need to do but I think it’s so fricked is that women in this country have to go back to work when their children are only 6 weeks old. I have a five week old and I can’t even begin to fathom allowing a stranger to take care of my baby for most of the day. I’m very fortunate that we do t have to make that choice but it’s ridiculous that in our country people are forced to. Babies need to be with their mothers as infants. They’re not even out of the fourth trimester 6 weeks.

And now you know why women have historically not been in the work force.

$1,200/week? Jesus

He later revised that to 1200/mo although in some VHCOL areas I can that as a weekly number.

The nanny takes care of 3 kids

3 kids in daycare make it close to $3,500/month. Yeah that’s gonna be close to a nanny’s cost.

However at most you’ll be in that position for 1-2 years because at 4 you can be in pre-K and at 5 you’re in K

I believe FMLA allows twelve weeks. My wife used that and then after the 12 weeks I took some time off to extend that to 14. Not ideal in a perfect sense, but it worked out.

People think I am crazy until they check into it but depending on age look into either a nanny or an au pair. We paid less than the higher-end daycares and our lives and our kids lives were much better for it as well.

I'm not trying to get in to a heated debate or get you with a gotcha. Genuinely asking. How are your kids lives much better? I see a huge social benefit to my kids going to day care. We debated the nanny thing, but ultimately decided on day care.

On topic for the thread, our daycare charges $288/wk for infant and $240/mo for toddlers. Our daycare is a church in our neighborhood. It's small, has a loving staff, and they have a good curriculum and facility. My wife used to manage a for-profit day care and vowed to never send her kids to one.

For the past year I haven't paid a dime. The state of TN has covered the bill for me. Thanks, covid.

Wtf! You sent your infant child to a daycare? Why did you even have children?

You people are all fricked up. Having children and outsourcing them to be raised by people who truly don’t give a shite. All for extra money.

This is why our country is so fricked up.

You sad pathetic losers. Y’all failed. Keep trying to convince yourselves otherwise

Wife’s friend pays $1600 a month for her 1 year old.

It is a montessori school.

I gave my wife the option to not work via a few sacrifices, like old cars. Capable women want to work and have nice stuff these days. I dont like it or agree with it, just the way it is.

There really isn’t an amount of money worth it to us to have our infant in the care of someone else.

At least the first year or so.

Our infant was home the first 6 months. It's worked for us.
