I think because of her image people overlook her talent. She is a very good songwriter. She penned one of the all-time great love song standards, "I Will Always Love You."

this is one of my biggest pet peeves. Who gives a shite about the intentions? (even though in this case the intentions certainly appear genuine).
If someone give 1 mil to starving kids, those kids won't be fed any less because the donor did it for tax purposes.

My wife met her when she wofked at the Nashville Symphony. She performed at a charity event or something. Said she was one of the nicest people she'd met. My wife said her husband dropped her off at the symphony in his mini-truck. They've been married since 1966. Well played, Carl Dean.

There are a lot of people who are able to give, who are actually genuine with wanting to give and I am pretty sure Dolly Parton is one of them. Either way, like you said who gives a shite what the intentions are.. If it helps out people then who cares?

Her maternal granddaddy was named Sanberry. My wife's mom and her are first cousins. They both grew up in Seveirville area.

and when you write something off it isn't like you get it all back

If you are in the highest bracket you write off $9M and save 39% of it in taxes. She still pays the rest, whatever it is, and there are rules about a max % f income too I think

Really! Some act as if donating 9 million dollars saves you 18 million in taxes, but it doesn't work that way.
