what caused the affair? was your wife not providing emotionally or did you want to feel like you had the ability to pull other women? seems weird that you didnt have sex?

I am usually not either but IMO an ongoing affair is more than just a mistake. You are making a conscious decision each time to break the vow you made. Its one time I will judge someone as being a horrible person. No excuse for it.
