I'm surprised that people still have AOL.com email accounts

Wow. I heard an advertisement on the radio and the contact information was an aol.com email address. I had no idea that they still existed.

I'm surprised anyone ever had AOL to begin with.

I still have AOL email accounts that I don't use. I never canceled them.
I don't have AOL software on my computer but AOL still has a website you can log in and get access to mail.

i think most are from folks who had aol e-mail addresses long ago and found that changing was too much trouble. Lose too many contacts and people. Too much of a hassle to have both. Or so my brother said

That's hilarious. I forgot about those CDs. Earthlink had them beat on the mail blitz though.

Dated a girl that used AOL. Made me mad I couldn't go to ESPN on her computer.

There was a thread about this a few weeks ago. The wealthiest person I know has an AOL email address.

I have 3 emails that I use. I have my work email, a gmail, and an aol. I use the work for work, the aol for personal, and Gmail for professional/non-work (i.e., if i were to look for a job or do some consulting on the side).
I know AOL is not the "cool" email, but I rarely communicate with friends through email. And aol works fine to receive eBay confirmations and delta airlines receipts.
ETA: I have had that AOL email for 20 years. Why go through the pain in the arse to change it?

And that's exactly what this is: an "I'm so cool" thread.

I didn't say anything about it being cool. I'm just surprised that it still exists.

I have a couple that are almost 20 years old.
I give it out if your email isn't a big priority to me or if I'm required to give one out online.

I have a MacBook. I am impervious to spyware.

My parents still use it. They're in their mid 70's

Oblivious =/= Impervious
Also, unbelievably, 2.1 million people in the U.S. still use AOL's dialup service, at least as of 2015.

Had a complaint come in at work and the guy had a netscape.com email. Is it bad I couldn't take him seriously after that?
