What's best for my family is more important than my ego or what people think.

I'd stay home in a heartbeat if that's what my wife and kids decided was best.

Couldn't do it unless i was taking care of our kids. The reason i say this is whats stopping her from leaving my stay at home arse if things go south and i haven't worked in 10 years. How am i gonna be employable?

Rake her across the court coals for half her shite and retire on child support.

Or does it or work that way?

My wife does make bank and I still work.

I'll always work. Even if I didn't need the money. I love my job and I enjoy working.

frick that. Not because it's embarrassing, but because being stay at home parents is brutal before the kid goes to school.

Absolutely

The gym has a daycare, I like to cook and I have robot vacuums. Could have maid come once a week for the big stuff.

Also, think about the alimony if she decides to walk...

I'd be okay with that. I would still work just because I want to. Being a stay at home dad doesn't sound attractive when I'm capable of holding down a stable job and bringing in income. Besides, the more money she makes, the less pressure on me to be the bread winner.

I cook and clean plus we have a maid every 2 weeks. My wife is most likely gonna make bank in 5ish years so I'm along for the ride.

I'd work. I'm not wired to be domesticated.

I would do full time woodworking from home and sell my work. I've gotten a lot better over past few years only doing it sparingly. I feel like I could get really good if that was essentially all I was doing work wise.

if your wife made bank would you work? would being a house dad be too embarrassing for you or not? would you get a job that maybe paid less but was more fulfilling?

In my marriage (I married a competitive, success-oriented woman) when we met, I made bank and she had potential. My success drove her to try harder and she surpassed me. In turn, I couldn't let her outdo me, so I didn't get complacent and then I surpassed her. On and on, through having two kids and overcoming the 9/11 recession and the '08 near financial collapse, we both seem to grind and push each other because we have financial goals. She's got the upper hand now, but it won't last long before I'm back on top.

That's our deal. Works for us and we each make serious bank. We both work in key positions for Forbes 100 companies and together we own a side internet business that is starting to create a a solid revenue stream for us.

But being a housewife, or house hubby, might be you and your wife's thing. It's whatever the dynamics of your marriage dictate is the right thing to do. And frankly, when you get a little bit older, you'll fully understand that what other people think about your family dynamics don't amount to a pile of beans. If you're happy and she's happy, everyone else can just be damned.
