I'd have a bad arse metal/woodworking shop where I could work at my own pace and sell stuff to support my hobbies and I'd have 50,008,128 post on TD

I'd argue that (depending on one's career, of course)-- most ppl could make a more positive impact on society with non-paid volunteer work than they can with whatever their job is... The OP didnt mention volunteeer work, but when i think of 'not working' or 'retirement' it always goes hand in hand with volunteer work, along with whatever fun hobbies you would want to pursue.

I make really good money but my wife still makes 50% more than me. Frankly it has just driven me more to try and catch her. I could never stay at home and not work. I do pick up more than my share of the house hold chores though, but honestly that's because I am a hyper fricker most of the time and can't stand to sit still. So I do the dishes, clothes, cook, clean or whatever else I can find to do for her and my boys.

Yes and honestly she wouldn't have to make "bank". If she made 150k I would bail if it was guaranteed to rise with inflation.

would you work? would being a house dad be too embarrassing for you or not? would you get a job that maybe paid less but was more fulfilling?

Damn right is quit working. I'm making great bank right now. But I'm also on nightshift. Even working days, it's still long hours in the heat. I'd be glad to take care of the kids, and enjoy my hobbies. One of which is cooking, and I rarely have time to do that.

I'm not sure if it's natural, the way I was raised, or past psychedelic usage, but I don't really have an ego. As long as she's cool with drums and BBQ, I can make it work.

Anyone who says that they wouldn't work really isn't thinking it through. Women don't work like that. If you're mooching off of her no matter how much she is making, then you're subconsciously weak to her. You become a leech to her, and unless you're Leonardo DiCaprio levels of attractive, she's going to start looking elsewhere. It may not happen next month, but you bet the odds are against you from lasting another 5 years together if you don't work and make a respectable income.

And here's the damning part that the woman gets but you don't: divorce money. She could be fricking your best friend with your kids in the room, and you won't see shite. You're not going to get a hundred million dollar settlement like Elin did with Tiger Woods. You're on your arse with no support unless she decides to wire you 5K to take the kids out for the night because she feels bad for you. That's all you're going to get.

Considering how many marriages end in divorce, absolutely not. Either way I would want to do something for work.
