I'd probably cut my old high school a check for $5M. I never realized it at the time, but the education I got from my parochial high school was indeed very valuable. Just wish I would have taken better advantage of it. So yeah, I'd help perpetuate that type of educating.

Not one dime. Why would I give a public high school any money?
Posted on 5/31/15 at 7:56 am to TechDawg2007
Absolutely nothing.
There's only one instance I'm donating to a school. I've always said if I was rich, I'd donate enough to the LSU Mechanical Engineering department. Two conditions; they change the building back to CEBA (dont know what they plan to call the new building so I dont know if this is even relavent anymore ), and fire one professor who taught a class that was not required at any other university from my understanding. He wrote the book, "taught" the class, and graded on opinion. I dont hate the guy, I'd pay him too so he wouldnt need money. But I think the program would be better without him and a good way to blow some money.

Id write a check for 1million and endow another 1million to be given in $5,000 scholarships for each of the 5 arts disciplines yearly. HSPVA Houston.
They are in the process of building the new school downtown, so I would make sure the money got put to good use.

But I went to public school in BR and don't live there anymore. Public school there is such a sinking ship why would I give money to that? Not my problem anymore, let them figure it out. My HS went to crap after they stopped being fully magnet anyways
Better Together though!

Not if you went to private school

Mine's gone after they sold to OP. Since, the buildings have been demolished because of Katrina. I'd start a high school.

Aside from the band program, zero.

My old high school is probably close to closing anyway. I think the graduating class this past year was 5 or 6. I would buy a bus and donate money to operate that bus so the kids are not stuck in a F ranked public school system once the private school closes.
I would give TAF, donate to help renovate Huey P Long Fieldhouse (where all my classes were), start a scholarship for students attendng LSU and my fraternity money at LSU. I will never give a penny to LSU itself. You are not going to close with a 8% budget cut and especially since you waste money like LSU does.
I would also donate to my grad school and my medical school.

$0
I would split at least $50M between Children's Miracle Network, St Judes, Make a Wish and Wounded Warriors.

I wouldn't give them anything, they had nothing to do with me earning that money.
