If you were in your early 30s with 1-2 kids in Houston, where would you live?

Assuming you work downtown and are willing to spend whatever it takes for a pretty nice (but not crazy extravagant) 3-4 BR place? Could be a house, town home, condo...whatever.

Why would you choose that area?

How much would you have to spend for that pretty nice 3-4 BR place that you want in that area?

Katy and or Woodlands take the park and ride to downtown.

Give Kingwood a look if you want to live on the North side. 59 is a better commute than 45.

This. Good area of course, but you're going to pay close to a million, if not more.

Alternative would be the woodlands.

Kingwood or the high end neighborhoods in Humble give you the easiest access to town with the best value for homes. And that area is going to see some pretty significant increases in home values in the next 5 years.

The two locations have the best schools in the area.

Depending on what type of home you want, you are looking at about $115 to $125 per sq/ft.

I would not live outside the loop. No amount of money, house, or whatever is worth it.

All of this. But I don't have kids so I live in the Heights.
