When you say Port Allen, are you talking about the area south of the intracoastal or north of it? No transportation as in you will not have your own vehicle, but you could still use a taxi or uber?

If you don't have the option for suicide, just try swimming across the mississippi river to baton rouge.. It wouldn't be suicide, you would probably end up drowning before making it across.

Port Allen. Why no transportation? I guess I could use the walkway under the new bridge to go to downtown BR.

What up baw?!!

This is a legit answer though. It is 5-10 minutes away and a infinitely better than Port Arthur. I can't think of anywhere in Port Arthur that I'd want to live. Every place in Port Arthur worth living in is so near the mall you are practically in Nederland or Port Neches anyway.

ETA. Just saw the no alcohol part? You in the Coast Guard? No alcohol in Port Arthur sounds like hell on earth. I'd be looking into how to pass urine drug screens.

All three of those are places that you drive through and think, "my God, someone actually lives here."
