Why in God's name would you do this to yourself? And don't even start in with the "automatic sliding door." Why? Why do you do this?

I give my brother shite for this all the time.
He refuses to call what he drives a mini-van. He calls it a car.

It allows me plenty of room in the back to bang your wife

Probably because based on the person's level of income and size of a family a mini-van is both practical and affordable

Because they are extremely efficient vehicles for moving a family of kids and their stuff around. Why are you so insecure?

some people think of their minivan as just another appliance.

Im not sure whats worse, driving a mini van or being worried about what people think about what you drive.

Minivans are very practical.
Let's see you bring home those boards from Home Depot in your little Audi 2 door.

There's always that chance my fiance will bang other men. But if she rides off with another man someday, it wont be in the passenger seat of a minivan.

No one with any ounce of Testosterone left in the body drives a vangina.

I drive my wife's sienna when we're all going somewhere together. I can lay down the back row and take the middle seats out and stack plywood and lumber in it. 8 feet of space. I can pack for a week long trip with a family of 4. Hard to do all that in any SUV.

Personally I'll never buy one but it's totally illogical. They're efficient, easy to get kids into, and hold a bunch of stuff. The new Hondas are downright nice. But I'm insecure so I'll stick to SUVs.
I'll bet a dollar OP doesn't have kids.

ex-Wife's primary vehicle was a minivan which we used for long road trips.
Honda Odyssey Touring is one of the best vehicles I ever owned.
If you are a family who drives cross country (12+hrs) 2-3 times a year, a minivan is a great vehicle to own.
Otherwise, buy a SUV

I don't even have kids yet, and I can't wait to have one. Those things are fantastic.
