If you could turn on a talking gene in your dog, would you?

The procedure only gives your dog the ability to express themselves through speech, it would not enhance their intelligence or anything.

So the average conversation would revolve around why you're home so late, balls, treats, and sleeping in your bed.

So I would basically wind up with a second wife nagging at me? No thanks.

My dog would just yell "squirrel, lizard, treat, food, dog" constantly, and then take long naps. It'd be funny for a day but then it'd probably get old.

if i can turn it off and on at will, absolutely.

because sometimes when my wife or kids do something stupid, my dog will look over and make eye contact with me.

so i just know he's got a smart arse comment rolling around in his skull.

We kick our dogs out our bedroom anytime we have sex, but imagine couples that don't....and now their dog can make commentary

yeah, she has a bulldog and we talked about this last night. our answer: hell no. she's a sweet dog but prone to being whiny, if she could talk it would be unbearable.

Imagine the marriages destroyed. Dog outing a cheating spouse.

"Hey what happened to the other man that was naked in here last week?"

my buddy has a golden retriever who is smart and the most chill dog i've ever met. when she needs to go out, she just nudges the person closest to the door and patiently goes and stands by the door. this dog is on another level. she'd probably be interesting to talk to.

I'm not missing anything without the actual conversation

I generally know what my dog wants or what he's thinking. I don't need to have to talk to him about it. Lately he's had a fascination with the printer, I'll start printing something and he'll run over to it and stick his nose in the exit tray. I'd be interested to know what he thinks is happening
