This is exactly what the powers that be want you to think. They want you to fear the protection of others and rely solely on them. There is no need to fear justice, be it at the hands of the police or a super-awesome dude in a costume.

Hey, I'm pro Batman/any masked vigilante. I'm arguing against the guy who said:

Kind of off topic but who is that sand man looking guy in the gif?

Batman shouldn't have license to be judge, jury, and jailor.

He doesn't!! He simply has the courage to take down the criminals that this city's police are too cowardice or crooked to approach!! Look man, you may be ok with watching this city crumble all around you, but I'm glad that at least one man has the courage to stand up for what's right!!! And despite all your anti-batman propaganda, he's still out there every night fighting for your safety from supervillains!!

I agree. And choose targets wisely and not too frequently.

If an un-named and unseen task force began slaughtering sex offenders, drug dealers, murderers who walk on technicalities etc, what would happen??
Depends. To some degree, that happens now... murders in NBR are typically drug related who most likely walked because of incompetence in the judicial system... voila. dey dead.

They'd be tried for murder.

As they should be. The rule of law exists for a reason.

Clint Eastwood made a fortune off this concept. Between the westerns and cop movies he was always just "delivering street justice"

All you need is some really nice fellows who want to go out and kill people they're not even sure are guilty of anything. Shouldn't be too hard to find.
