I hate when assholes get right on your tail on the interstate even though you're going 10 miles over the speed limit. They start flashing their lights at you. I like to put my right blinker on and keep driving in the left lane at the same speed. Then, when they pass me in the right lane, I'll merge over right after. frick them.

No I put my blinker on and move over to the non passing lane if someone is going faster than me in the left lane.

I turn the music up louder and start with the beer funnel and public urination. They set up further away next time

Be happy you live in La.... I moved to Ga 23 years ago and learned that people here drive like shite. The Atlanta area is the worst. Tailgating is commonplace. I'm not a speeder but will do a little more than speed limit. I will drop 10 mph if I get a jerk-off tailgating me. If they correct I will as well.

You are the a-hole in this case. It is illegal to just cruise in the left lane no matter how fast you're going in virtually every jurisdiction - you have to be passing someone, and you have to pull back over once the pass is completed. In many countries the cops will enforce it too, it just usually isn't here.

I either waive them around or find someplace to pull off. On-highway pissing matches between cages and motorcycles do not tend to end well for the guy on the motorcycle.

I let them pass then tailgate the hell out of them. When they let me pass, I slow down and hold them up. Rinse and repeat.

Some people do tailgate in the right lane even if the left lane is clear, that's what's annoying.

I've slowed down to 30 mph in the right-hand lane (in a 70), with the left-hand lane clear, before some of these people pull their head out of their arse and gun it around me.

I will never understand this.

That, and refusing to pass on a two-lane highway. They'll make you take to the shoulder before they'll pass, even though we are in a (clear) passing zone.

I guess people are too fricking lazy to pass. Too much effort.

Question is about city surface streets. Not highways.

I do the same thing, wave them around or find somewhere to turn or pull over.

The left lane is not a passing lane on a city street.

Do you like the brake tap method or do you try to find a slow car next to you and just cruise?

I used to have an old Volvo 740 that had driving lights/fog lights...when you would turn them on, the brake lights would get brighter too (one of Volvo's safety features from the 80's). I did use them a time or two when someone was riding too close. That way, they back off and I haven't actually slowed down any to risk being rear-ended.

No, I try not to let the actions of others that I can't control make me resort to petty behavior that stops me from getting to my goal
