If aliens visit earth, isn't it likely we will be wiped out by a new disease?

Unless the planet they come from magically has the same exact bacterias and viruses, then our immune systems will likely encounter germs that these aliens bring with them that we have never encountered before.
If germs from one continent can wipe out an entire other continent's population, then I shudder to think what germs from another planet could do.

That is certainly a big issue. Luckily some of our penicillin should be helpful because their diseases won't have developed resistances yet.

Odds are if aliens have the technology to come visit us.....they aren't coming in peace.

aliens are already here.
Dr Alan Hynek was hired by the USAF to debunk UFO stories in the 1950's and 1960s. He had a full time job as prof of astronomy at Northwestern U in Evanston.
he would go visit the people reporting the UFO's and see their photos and take pics of his own.
He ended up with 100's of stories he could not debunk and went on TV in Chicago and said there were two entirely different races of aliens visiting earth.
That was in the late 60's or early 1970's. His son maintains a website.

I'm guessing that if they have the technology to actually travel hundreds/thousands/millions of light years to get here, there's a fair chance that they've developed a way to be relatively disease resistant as well.
