Is this info correct? It seems impossible to shoot 30/second. And I would think that the barrel would melt if someone shot 1700 rounds in a minute.

Why don't you find an Uzi and a 1700 round mag and see if the barrel melts.

And the fastest number I saw on a quick google search is 1200rpm. But I don't care enough to look harder

women shooting gifs.

start them out with a 22 rim fire, then move on to a .38 or 380.

All small submachine guns pull up. Instructor should have helped her sturdy it.

This story seems very odd.

The Uzi is a VERY safe weapon, perhaps one of the safest in the submachinegun genre.

It was designed by an Israeli to be used by tank crews who were cramped close together, and includes a grip safety to prevent accidental discharges. The instant you disengage the safety at the rear of the grip, the gun will not fire.

The article mentions the ""recoil was intense" and that somehow caused the gun to go up and backwards and hit the instructor.

The recoil of an Uzi is NOT intense in the least bit- it uses a 9mm pistol round.

This whole story reeks of bullshite and/or misinformation.

I have an a-hole neighbor that has an Uzi and fires it every Sunday night at 11:45 pm, like clockwork (I live in the country, btw). I haven't figured out why this occurs every week, my guess is he's celebrating being unemployed.

Why is it hard to believe. Here is the video stopped right before he was shot. Kid was completely inexperienced and last the he told her was to be sure and hold down the safety.

It does seem suspect, re: the facts posted about the weapon (which are accurate) but im wondering if maybe the uzi was modified in any way that made this easier to occur

What modifications are you suspicious of? Toucan hear him telling her about the safety.

You're correct that an Uzi does not have an intense recoil. I fire one at our firing range all the time. Now I say that as a 44 yr old man that's been firing weapons on a regular basis since I was a kid. But I'm pretty sure a 9 yr old girl is going to have a far different perspective than I on the intensity of the recoil of an Uzi.

I'm wouldn't let my grown wife shoot a semi auto gun with more than one round in the magazine unless I'm 100% sure she can handle the recoil and is comfortable with the gun (as in she has shot the gun before).

I personally wouldn't just pick up an Uzi and hold down the trigger. I'm going to stick a round in it to get a feel for it. Then I'll add a few to get a short burst. Then if I feel comfortable, I'm going to let it rip.

I don't know what the experience level was before this happened so I won't judge. It's a terrible accident and I feel horrible for that girl.

God damned liberals! Found a comrade willing to sacrifice himself for the cause. And a family willing to let their girl kill.
