A is a 40:32,000 chance
B is a 1:70,000 chance

How much more likely is A than B?

I was a 620 Math/740 Verbal on my SATs back in the day day before the day...

A is a 1 in 800 chance

B is 1 in 70,000

70,000/800=875

It's 87.5 times more likely

ETA:sorry, typo

ETA 2: Derp. I missed a zero. Placebeaux is right. Mea culpa. I haven't done math in a long long time

Use a simpler example to figure out how to do this:

A is a 1:2 chance
B is a 1:4 chance

How much more likely is A than B? Reverse engineer how to get that answer.
