What am I missing? Why is your ice chest in the fridge?

It's never going to hold ice until you put your sticker on it.

While I understand the concept of getting the cooler down to "temperature"; if it takes four days to get there is it worth it. Additionally, you never said if you were going camping or if this is for grilling time for the games at the house. If the later why not just fill the fridge with beer and pull from there? Also, as mentioned prior, lower the temp in the fridge. I don't have a YETI (didn't like the sticker that is required to be on cooler or back glass). So, I went with the K2 and can put a frozen 1/2 gallon juice bottle in the night before and maintain cold with just 20 lbs of ice.

If I know you (which I doubt) please clean the fridge out, the dust/dirt is a bit off putting.

A large tin trough and ice could have sufficed if this was only for beer.

Do you know how much beer you could put in there if you take that cooler out?

It's a perpetual cooling process. Once the Yeti reaches critical temperature, it becomes self cooling, to the point where the Yeti actually generates cooling temperatures on its own.

so then you could pull the plug on the freezer and the yeti takes over?
