Insurance is a racket. Hospitals normally cut deals with cash payers to try and recoup some of the cost instead of not getting paid for any part of the visit.

Yup - it's gonna be huge. Costa Rica, Bahamas are way ahead of this game.

You're gonna see doctors retiring and become ex-patriots over the next 15-20 years.

In a strange twist of fate, central america comes to the states and the states flee to central america.

Hay papi!

Insurance is not a racket.

It has been regulated into a racket.

Profit and loss. They profit on taking premiums from you and then not paying what they are responsible to pay for on your behalf.

Let me rephrase that "Health Insurance" is a racket and has only served the purpose of driving up health costs.

Hold on. You're not part of a pool and you think an increase is unjust?

Why do insurance companies / Health Care provides F the hard working American.

Last year I had over $1 million billed to my family plan with BC/BS. Granted, BC/BS pays less than what is billed, but still it was an extremely high amount. I pay $112.57 per pay period (every two weeks), and if BC/BS even paid out half of what was billed it will take 4,441 pay periods for me to pay them back in premiums - 170 years.

If you include my employer's share of the insurance premiums, it will take BC/BS 37.5 years to recoup that $500,000. In reality, they paid out more than $800,000 for the claims, which would be more than 60 years or premiums.

I didnt deserve an increase of 50% in premiums with a 300% increase in deductibles simply because i had CHOSEN to have a healthplan that didnt have maternity or pediatrics as a single, 45 year old male. frick people like you who defend that piece of shite legislation that has created a huge burden on people.

Had a baby 2014, with my insurance I had to pay over 3K. (I know that's crappy insurance) I found out that cash patience can get away with paying under $1,000

No, you didn't, unless the person telling you that lives in Namibia.

Complicated childbirth. Wife spent 9 weeks in the hospital. Twins spent 5 weeks in the NICU.

Seriously?

frick you for not joining a self-funded pool if you indeed have such a successful enterprise. You have options. Gump.

This video highlights the problem pretty well. We pay more in this country but don't receive better care. Universal healthcare would solve the problem, but it is politically impossible.

Yikes. My high deductible plan is lower than that.
