Got a trip coming up in a few months. Any of you baws learned to speak a new language in a short period of time? Recommendations on learning resources? I don't need to be fluent, would just like to be comfortable as a tourist.

Unless you are some sort of savant, you are not going to learn any new language "in a few months."

Just about everyone under 60 speaks at least some English. I had no issues communicating.

If you want to learn some key phrases just google Italian Tourist phrases.

I did not I just spoke English everywhere.

You don't actually have to learn to speak Italian.

Just hold your hand like this when speaking... They'll understand.

download the Duo Lingo app and it'll help you with general phrases. From my travels, like most European countries, many Italians speak english and will cater to you.

They like it better when you speak English with an Italian accent. Try to sprinkle in some random vowels at the end of each sentence, if you can.
