Tactical Intelligence International

My other advice is to hire this Private Security firm out of Florida for your safety as they are the best in the world and the elite of the elite for business safety. Matamoros is one place you better have a security team with you.

I used to fly hunters down to a private hunting lodge about 60 miles south of Matamoros. It was pretty sweet because the pilots would get to stay and hunt. They had to shut the lodge down because a mass grave of about 80 bodies was found on the property. So have fun.

This. You also should buy kidnapping insurance.

This morning we discussed it and looks like we are now meeting the Airport officials in Mexico City instead.

I'm very happy, and this thread was less than re-assuring.

Wear all that Trump gear you have, head to toe, the Mexicans will respect the hell out of you.

This, chances are you're not getting gatted either way, but your company is asking you to go into a place that is literally a war zone. While violent crime rates have dropped in parts of Mexico over the last 3-4 years, I'm not sure that applies to Tamps.

LoL. Out of the frying pan and into the fire. I flew into Mexico City a couple of years ago for a meeting. The people I was meeting with insisted that we meet at the airport hotel. They, the people who live and work there, straight up told me they didn't want me going off the airport grounds because of the danger. They had a vested interest in nothing happening to me or my American dollars.

Progresso > Matamoros

Just don't wander away from the main drag and stay in a group.

Smart decision IMHO. I've been to Matamoros and when I go there I go in armed to the fricking teeth with TII security. Even the cartel knows not to screw with the TII guys but regardless anytime you travel to Mexico its smart to purchase kidnapping insurance--its fairly inexpensive but will definitely save your life in the event you get caught up in something you can't control because that piece of paper is your life line to safety.

And the second you land at the MAM airport the cartel will already knows who you are, where you live, how many kids you have, and what you are doing there.

I went to La Fogata in Matamoros a few years back before they expanded across the border. It was dark as we left and the manager offered a van ride back to the border for safety. We took it and made it back safely, but the whole time thought we were done for.

The goat shoulder was great and the big bird cage was breathtaking...worth the risk of kidnapping imo.

Indeed... I remember when we had family in south Texas, going to Matamoros was the best part of the trip. Felt perfectly safe and there were Americans everywhere shopping and whatnot.

Sad, really.

More of what Mexico City really looks like instead of the downtown pic you have, that's the worlds largest slum and more people live in it than the whole population of Alabama. If the cartel's don't get you the pollution will, y'all can have that hell hole and that's coming from someone that's been across and to Mexico City a bunch of times per cartel days. If they can meet you in Mexico City to get the deal done then they should be able to fly in to San Antonio to get it done.
