I don't believe some supernatural intelligence or force is keeping score of our actions. I don't believe that an immoral act is transcendentally countered by one of justice or balance. I don't believe that actions are divinely punished or rewarded.

Instead, I believe in the power of attitudinal pervasion. I believe that individual deeds amount to an atmosphere and that those deeds must be positive for us to breathe. I believe in paying it forward so that compassion and mercy and brotherhood are expectations rather than surprises. I believe our happiness as a species depends on a commitment to helping others.

What was your good deed for today?

Arrest this man
He talks in maths
He buzzes like a fridge
He's like a detuned radio

It's not that I disagree with any of this, it's that I'll never understand the desire you have to rustle the jimmies of this (and others) boards by posting all thoughts that pop into your heads that you know for a fact will generate the most negative reactions.

I mean...enjoy it I guess, but I just don't see what's so fun about you're schtick.

I believe that life is absurd, and your ability to react to circumstances defines who you are to yourself and the people who love, hate or generally DGAF about you. How you manage to live with your actions personally dictates your level of happiness.

I gave a homeless person a sandwich. I want others to do the same without strings or conditions or reward.

Awesome... I'm a fan of that old definition of character being doing the right thing without anyone having to be there to witness it. Getting everyone's attention to then pat yourself on the back kind of sort of falls into that category for me...your mileage may vary.

Precisely what I'm talking about... You know full well that you're tossing red meat into a piranha's tank with this shite. Again...I don't disagree, but you know this is only going to end with 100 downvotes and you being called every name in the book. I can't help but picture some guy tied up with a dominatrix abusing them while he gets off when I read posts like this from you.

Different strokes I guess...

ETA: Sorry...I copied your quote before you edited it to not sound like one of the rubes on here.

I believe this also and live by it daily. My good deed for the day was spraying glade in the work bathroom after I blew it up

1. I do appreciate your positive statements at the end of your post.

2. your opening remark is not what karma means. that is not how it works.

And regardless of our opinions about ideas, life is as it is.

I appreciate most of your posts. You got this one on karma way wrong.
