"Councilwoman Chauna Banks gave a presentation during the meeting. She says even though the topic of moving the zoo has been thrown around for two yeras, she wants the commission to do more research before making a decision."

gotta steal some more $$$$.

They aren't moving that zoo as long as the current administration is in place.

With these people running the city, I feel like we're all living in a zoo.

They really will do whatever it takes to stifle progress.

Somebody made a great point in the thread yesterday. They are completely against moving the zoo, but if there was a proposal to build a zoo they would be completely against building it where the current zoo is.

No matter what is best for the community, they presume it is against their interests.

Form some groups, have some meetings, write a report and do nothing is the new way of politics.

The EBRCOA fiasco and pressuring the Metro Council(took 5 votes to change a few minds) to give them the money has emboldened that group, now they think they can use this tactic of obstruction and intimidation to get whatever they want and move more tax dollars to themselves.

I would love to know HONESTLY when the last time any of these anti-move council members actually went to this zoo. This is so childish.

The zoo has been there since 1970 and some guy is up there talking about "it will bring economic development opportunities"...

I heard her on the radio this morning. She was saying location of the zoo was irrelevant because location doesn't matter in a "destination attraction". She was actually trying to compare the BR Zoo to Disney and other tourist attractions. I kid you in isolated areas away from the heavily traveled areas. How many of you have planned your summer vacation to Baker to visit the zoo?
