its a mental health issue. Even those that use/abuse drugs/alcohol are self medicating.

There are already plenty of beds for women and children that want to avail themselves.

Learn to live with it.

Solving their problem encourages others. Best solution is to ignore them. They'll go away.

Many homeless people are homeless by choice (well they have mental problems). I don't know for sure, but we live in a country where you can get help for basic needs if you are truly in need. You could build homes for the entire homeless population and there will be a percentage that will still end up homeless.

Send them to labs so scientist and doctors can try new medications on them before they get FDA approved

Ship them off to Iran.

Let the terrorists put up with 'em.

I work in Hollywood and we have a horrible homeless problem. To make matters worse, we don't have the older middle aged disabled vets that are relatively mild mannered panhandlers. Instead, its a bunch of young psychotic drug addicts that do crazy shite on the sidewalks and terrorize local businesses.

I am 100% in favor of euthinization of these people.

My experience volunteering to help these people for a long, long time taught me that virtually every one chooses to be there. Load them up and send them to Europe with the "refugees".

Worker camps. Free govt and local labor and they live in tent cities. Of course someone would step in and say the rations weren't appealing enough and the living conditions were sub-standard but it would be an improvement to an overpass and digging in garbage cans

We have enough "ghost towns" in our country that we could fence in. Drop in enough tools & supplies to allow them enough access to eat & sleep indoors. Pipe in fresh water. No stimulants. No phones. No internet. No tv. Enough electricity for heat/ac/lighting.

Round them all up & lock them in. They can either die from withdrawals or improve their station in life. Then, they just take care of their own until death. Rinse & repeat.

With the government money we spend now on locking them up, funding shelters, & more-we'd likely see far better results for the money.

On top of that, we'd create jobs for the security of the fence lines.

Give them run down abandoned houses in Detroit on the condition that they have to fix them up, government will give them 6 months of water bill payments so they can shower and go to job interviews to acquire the money for building materials. If they don't have the property looking decent in 2 years, send them to Mexico.

Why not open up rehabilitation centers for the homeless? Have group like sleeping situations and have people set up jobs for them. Maybe some employeers from that city can set them up with training and pay for some basic jobs to help give them some experience. They can do jobs like the prisoners do, pick up trash and other things to keep the state clean and shiny.

Then you could also supplement this with other things to help the homeless out of these shelters once they have a job. Like low income housing, food stamps, etc since these people will probably be working for minimum wage, which really is a living wage. I don't know how prevalent this is in the city, but some jobs on farms will provide you with a place to stay, and pay for your work.

So again the best way to help the homeless is to get them back on their feet so they won't be homeless. I would think after hitting rock bottom and living on the streets, these people would be willing to go to work if they could be guaranteed a place to sleep and some food.

You could build large farming facilities with small dormitories. The ex-homeless could exchange work for food and housing.
