My lab is an inside dog, but I take him out to do shite every other day. He has no problem laying around the house when I'm not here. He likes watching old monster truck videos

I live in the city in a pretty big house with no grass in my back yard, just a pool and patio area, front yard grass. I would never even think about trying to raise a lab in that environment.

If you could read and comprehend I said in my first post that labs aren't barkers. Which means they don't bark a lot. What I said was to keep a lab stuck inside a house is selfish and punishing the dog.

Im an idiot for saying a lab shouldn't be kept inside or in a small yard............gotcha

I had two labs and a huge yard. They'd walk around it for five minutes, take a crap and then sit still in the sun near the house for hours.

It's also selfish to be a troll in a thread. So I guess we're both being selfish.

Im not being a troll just because I disagree with you about keeping dogs inside a house in a neighborhood. It's my opinion and other have agreed with me in this post. But thanks for your opinion.

People who don't keep their dogs quiet (especially at night and on weekend mornings) are really shitty neighbors. Stop being so inconsiderate of your neighbors, and keep your dog quiet, that would be my advice.

Fast forward a week and I have a letter from hoa claiming she barks late into the night and early morning

You need to take over the HOA. Watch this video, they talk about how this guy did it in the middle of it. He is beyond loaded now but he took over a few HOAs before he had cash. LINK

Actually...you need to have a dog bark recorded. Set it to go off once and make sure the barking dog is going ape shite for a minute or so. She will complain to HOA. But you say the dog was gone all week. She loses all credibility. Dick her too.

No shite. Putting a dog built to run around all day long and punish it's life by keeping it inside a house is gonna make it big and lazy. And you call me the idiot. Like I said laughable.

I'm built to run game to death but I'm perfectly happy on the couch watching the tube.

My dad got tired of the HOA in his hood always bitching about one thing or another, and actually got on the board. Now, he just opposes every single thing they say just to piss them off

bring Bible. Swear to God you tell nothing but the truth.

ask HOA people if she made similar remarks about previous owner.

Be nice to her, let her meet your dog, show her the video of her sleeping on your couch during the day. Assure her if she's hearing barking late at night/early morning it's not your girl.

If you own in a community with an HOA and don't get on the board you are SSOOOOOO dumb! The guy in the video I posted went around and got enough proxy signatures to straight up take over the HOA! I would suggest the OP look over his HOA bylaws with an attorney and figure out some way to do something similar if possible.

You and the dog will be out of town for a week? Here's the plan:

1. Record dog barking
2. Set up stereo so it can be remotely accessed by phone
3. Randomly throughout the day/night, play the dog barking noise
4. Wait for next complaint
5. Destroy her credibility by proving it couldn't have been your dog
6. ???
7. Profit

I actually agree with you. Especially pertaining to a dog like a lab.

yes, no one can successfully have a healthy lab in a neighborhood without being irresponsible toward neighbors. You guys are a hoot.
