Alaska would go pretty easily

Have you ever been to Alaska? It's as mountainous as all hell. And cold. The Russians would learn why it was a mistake for the Nazis to invade them in the winter.

*And the Alaskans love their guns too.

Yes, and probably from every country on the planet, although I don't know if it's really an invasion when we pay them to come.

My thought is you don't know anything about California. The West Coast states are pretty well armed, and the geography on top of that would stop them quickly. Yes there are Hollywood liberal pussies, but they don't speak for the people over there who like to hunt.

Which is about 1%. I don't think California would put up a fight at all. The geography would make advancement tough for an invasion but let's not say that they have an armed populace because they don't.

While the average citizen is armed enough to stage a small insurgency, in order to fight modern militaries you need military grade weapons,

Please leave your swamp and travel for once in your life. There is more to California besides San Francisco and Hollywood.

Absolutely. Cali is on my list of places to bow hunt, especially black bear. There are 39 million people in Cali and <390K hunting tags sold last year. We're not arguing whether California has gorgeous hunting land, we're arguing about the mentality of a populace when compared to it's surrounding areas and in that case Cali is full of liberals that aren't armed and that is a lot more so than any other states near it.

Nevermind Oregon and Washington, which is filled to the fricking brim with heavily armed militias. But in all seriousness, no invading army stands a chance against our military, the sheer vastness of our country, the well armed citizenry and the deep love of country. BLM and all the protestors would put down all those pickets and go to war to save their country, fighting right beside the a-hole Trump supporter they think they hate.

In all honesty, we may need something like this to happen to band our nation back together. That or a dictator whom we can overthrow.

I mean even if they took a city. we would cut all supplies going in and they wouldn't last very long.

There is not a quick invasion of America.. its more along the lines of continued poor leadership for years and years.

At some point although it will still be called the united states of America.. (unless they change that since it was called that when we had slaves which is super racist to still go by that name..) we will look around and not recognize the place..

I'm confused.... do some of you guys think citizens armed with glocks and hunting rifles can fight against a modern military ?

How did the poorly armed folks in Mogadishu, Ramadi, and Mosel do against the heavily armed US military?

And before you say they had IED's. Well they are not that difficult to make.

Too many gun carrying civilians. There are a myriad of factors that would make it virtually impossible to be successful. None more prevalent than imagining an invading army traversing the ocean and having to engage our Navy / Airforce before even sniffing our shoreline.

Scariest threats are terrorism with nukes, cyber-terrorism vs. our power grid, and nuclear submarines.

I would also add biological threats to the water supply. I am amazed and truly grateful that an attack on our populace and to our infrastructure hasn't been attempted on a large scale. I do not think we will ever see a uniformed boots on the ground invading army. It will come from within via terrorism.

I think the one thing everyone is forgetting here is how militarized our law inforcement it. This includes wildlife and fisheries.

WLF would deter the foreign attackers by writing them tickets for only having 11 of the 12 different required licenses for their invasion

Any invasion force of sufficient size would not come without sufficient warning to allow time to sink/destroy them on their side of the Pacific. At the moment and for the foreseeable future, trying to militarily invade the US would be stupid from any direction, especially the South.

Not good. Something like 1500 dead compared to 18 Americans.
