Wet dogs for sure, but it's not your fault. I think that's just the greasy hair and that occurs naturally when it's wet.
As far as sheets, it's optimally once per week. Occasional a couple days longer.
A new washcloth daily. A new towel 1-2 times per week.

My maid cleans them once a week. If I have to to do it, it's once every 2 weeks.
