I realized i've been tipping $2 for about 10 years. Is this too little?

depends on where it is, how far the car is, etc. that being said, two or three bucks.

I don't valet often. When you say "tip" do you mean in addition to the standard fee that depending on where you is usually $2-$5. I thought that was the tip. Am I supposed to give more?

I tip the guy parking the car $5 usually. Maybe $2 to the guy who brings it back. I just hope they park it where it won't get door dings and are nice to the clutch.

IDK, I get really worried about the parking job. I worry about them not engaging the parking brake correctly...hell most attendants I worry about them dropping the clutch and ramming into something right there. I hate giving people the keys to my car.

This
Only times I have tipped more is on special date nights at a high end restaurant.

Just about every where I do valet these days is free, but you need to tip.

And I was always told you tip when they bring your car back to you.

Depending on the establishment... anywhere from $3-$5

Why would the amount that you tip vary by the establishment?

.0002% of what the car is worth.

I valeted at a decent hotel.

In general:
$2-5 from people that look like they've had their car valeted before

$0 or $10+ from people that look like first timers who don't know what to do.

$2-3 is what I'd do

I was one of only 2 people out of a group of 25 or so valets that could drive stick. Helped me catch nice tips on some high dollar sports cars.

Apparently people usually tip a lot. I've never valeted but my brother used to work at the raddison downtown as well as a few other hotels and claims it was the best money he ever made.
