I have a 2008 Silverado with 392k miles. Assuming 15 mpg and $2.50/gal gas, I’ve spent about $65,000 just on fuel. Add in maintenance, tires, etc., I’d say it’s approaching $80k.

12 years of ownership 208,000 miles

Probably $4,000 in oil changes
$5,000 in tires
$1,900 front wheel bearings
$1500 four corner brake job
$2500 for replacement of emissions sensors

Needs new shocks and cab bushings at the moment along with a slight leak in the oil pan

2012 F250 diesel for reference

2021 with 85,000 miles. Around 15 oil changes at $60 a piece and a new set of tires so probably around $1,900 total. It's a turbocharged engine so I'm almost waiting for something to go wrong at this point. Wish I would have just gotten a 4Runner instead.

2014 F150 crew cab 4x4 with 112,000 miles.

$0 on oil changes. I bought the truck new from Sterling Ford in Opelousas and it came with free lifetime oil changes.

New set of tires a couple years ago for $1,200.

Changed my brake pads last year for $90.

Changed the battery for $120.

Changing my spark plugs soon myself.

Couple of inexpensive switches and a relay.

That’s it.

I have a 2017 F150. No clue on maintenance but I've replaced tires, battery, wiper blades, air filter and oil changes etc.

I haven't spent anything on non-routine maintenance yet.

I've had a 2007 Lexus for over 5 years. Probably a few thousand at least - 4 new tires, new battery, new radiator, another repair I can't remember plus oil changes and some other routine maint.

Still running smooth thank goodness. I'm glad I bought a reliable used car cheap before the market exploded. Dumping $10k/year on transportation is such a huge cost sink for the middle class.

My 2019 truck - not much. Just a battery and tires.

My 2003 Jeep - I don’t even want to think about how much I’ve spent. (And that’s with me doing a lot of the work myself)

Do you have a really slow car or did you upgrade for the faster one?

I have the long-range and got it in 2018 when you had to upgrade to even get the car. I drive like a bat out of hell. My first set of Michelin that came with the car didn't last but 2 years, so I went to Costco and got them to work with Michelin and got 50% off the new set for warranty coverage and that's what I've been on. Rotate every 6k.

Even in the SR, most people don’t get close to 50K on the OEM tires.

I have the LR and the OEM lasted 2 years. I got a new set of Michelin, but a different model and they've been good. I'm about halfway through them at year 3.5.

2003 Taco 4x4, 197,500 mi. Routine maintenance.

I thought there was a problem with the EVAP years ago, but it turns out they just pinched the vacuum line on the air box when they checked the air filter at Benny's.

That's all I got.

Just turned 90,000 miles. Have had 9 oil changes, done every 10,000 miles. New set of tires. That’s really the extent.
Oh, it’s a 2021 Toyota Tacoma.

Well I’m not sure if they made the plastic valve cover to leak, or they made the valve cover gasket to leak…but the combination has leaked for the last 150k. I’ve had it repaired, but it never stopped leaking I don’t think…or started leaking again so soon after it didn’t matter. I keep oil, coolant, and power steering fluid in my trunk.
