I was astounded by how expensive it was to fly from Atlanta to Phoenix. 2 adults and 1 child was $1200 total round trip.

I rarely fly, so I'm really out of touch with these prices. I can't imagine how so many people can afford to fly often.

Most flights I book now are $400+. It's gotten very expensive to fly IMO.

It is if you're going to basically either side of the country from MSY. Recently I've done MSY to LGA and MSY to SEA both under $300 roundtrip. $400 is a lot to me

What I find "astounding" is the variance in prices. Whether it be the price for the same trip at different times of the year, or the variance in price for a trip from a common location to two different cities not far apart. I know there are many factors that go in, but it just always kinda makes me want to say WTF!

Anywhere from $100-$250. I've paid as much as $450 at times but that's because it was a date where there was something going on in the destination city.

$400 for a flight is a bargain these days.

If you want to save on flights your best best is to get an airline miles credit card, or otherwise fly in the middle of the week

Does no one look at my threads anymore? If you needed help I would have been more than willing to help find you something for better than $1200. ATL-PHX I'm seeing an average of $335 roundtrip on delta or southwest so even for 2 adults and a child that averages to $1000, you still would've saved $200...

There's tricks as to the best time to book flights to certain locations. It also depends on if you're set on flying certain days of the week. Example: Fridays are almost always more expensive to fly than tuesdays, wednesdays or saturdays.

$400 isn't expensive at all...that is what my aunt paid (Southwest) for a flight to visit me next month.

Also...when are you looking to fly to Phoenix? If it is now or up until about April...prices are gonna be higher because this is peak tourism season here.

I don't fly but I fly others in, my ex who lived in London was about $1200 in 2009-2011. Recently, I've paid around $250-$350 for someone from Philadelphia.

I disagree, unless it's all last minute bookings.

It depends on where I'm flying to and how early I book.
